Curtain up on Murder

Curtain up on Murder by Bettine Manktelow finished off our 2013/14 season with a flourish.

The play is thriller/murder mystery with a few twists. The first is that the plot surrounds a drama group putting on a murder mystery. You see them rehearse and then they realise they are locked in the theatre. One by one the actors are bumped off. Tensions ramp up as the play progresses and the bodycount rises. Eventually the murderer(s) are revealed but there are still more twists woven into the plot.

Our audience often ask for a murder mystery and we hadn’t done one for a little while so it was fun to put this one on. Audiences were large and appreciative and every night I could hear muffled whisperings amongst them as they tried to work out who did it. That is the mark of a really good production.
